MULTIFOCAL LENS FOR CATARACT SURGERY
If your loved ones have cataract and at the same time want to be free from glasses, implantation of a multifocal lens during cataract surgery is the way! Multifocal intraocular lenses are so named because they enable you to concentrate clearly at all distances, including near, intermediate, and far. We’ve been utilizing them for years at IKONIK.
This type of lens is implanted through a micro-incision of about 3 millimeters. With the help of an injector like the one we see in the image, we will insert the lens into the eye. The surgeon then uses the microsurgical instruments to place the lens in its final position. After a short and very safe operation, you will be able to enjoy a high-quality vision. You will be able to lead an active life without having to wear glasses or contact lenses. You also save on the costs of having to renew or repair them from time to time.
With the multifocal lenses which we implant in the eye, we can solve the visual problems caused by presbyopia (blurry vision due to aging) and cataracts. They also allow us to correct frequent refractive problems such as myopia, hyperopia, and/or astigmatism. In this way the patient is less dependent on glasses, in fact in most cases, they are even forgotten because excellent results are achieved at all distances.
“I don’t have cataract, but I want to reduce my dependency on reading glasses. Can I do this procedure?”
YES! Multifocal Intraocular lenses can correct your visual problems and also prevent cataracts from forming, as they replace the natural lens, which loses its transparency over the years.
