In late 2013, Addaem founded PMELC and started its operation as an eye specialist centre focused on corneal refractive surgery. Under his leadership, the company expanded its services by providing treatments for cataract, diabetic eye diseases, etc. In January 2021, the eye centre expanded further with a new brand of the Ikonik Eye Specialist Centre. It relocated to a prime area of Bukit Jalil with a conducive infrastructure and a strategic location.

Coming from a difficult social background in the rubber estates of Perak, he knew from early on that for a person to grow and improve, knowledge has to be sought continuously. During his varsity days, he received a full scholarship from a private institution and graduated with a Degree in Business Administration with honours. Later on, he obtained a scholarship to pursue his Master of Business Administration (MBA) studies in one of the world’s most competitive leading business schools; INSEAD Business School. He is also highly passionate about developing people. He is a certified Team Coach and Certified Executive Coach from the prestigious Marshall Goldsmith Executive Coaching Guru and a certified Neuro-linguistic Programme (NLP) trainer. Addaem’s key priority has always been to develop a high-performance organisation, and this is one of the steps to reaching the goal of becoming a leading eye centre.

He is passionate about growing and grooming young talents; therefore, he plays a substantial role in training the staff for multiple functional positions. His enthusiasm and sincerity in developing the company and the team paid its due when he was awarded the Par Excellence Achievement Award under the Male Entrepreneur of the year 2018 at The Star Outstanding Business Awards (SOBA). Furthermore, under his leadership, the company won the Malaysian Business of the Year 2018 and Gold Awards for both Best Brands and Best in CSR.

He is also a loving father to his children and he enjoys spending time with them while instilling positive values.
